About Onfido
Onfido provides identity verification built around document capture and biometric checks: a customer photographs an identity document and takes a selfie, and the service assesses whether the document is genuine and whether the person presenting it matches it.
For a remittance operator this is usually the onboarding check that sits at customer sign-up. It is a different kind of control from ongoing sanctions and PEP screening, which continues throughout the relationship — most operators need both.
Supported services
- Document verification
- Biometric face matching
- Onboarding identity checks
Typical use cases
- Consumer-facing remittance apps where onboarding must be fast and self-service.
- Operators whose FCA-registered obligations require documented identity evidence at onboarding.
- Businesses serving customers across multiple document types and nationalities.
How Remitz integrates Onfido
The connector is already built and already running in production for another operator on the platform. Connecting it for you is a configuration step, not a development project, and it does not carry an integration fee.
During onboarding we take the credentials Onfido issues to you, configure the connector against them, and test end to end across every corridor and delivery method you intend to launch with before anything goes live.
Remitz does not resell, introduce or provide Onfido services. You hold the commercial relationship with Onfido directly, complete their onboarding and due diligence, and supply your own API credentials.
Remitz connects those credentials to a connector that is already built and already running in production for other operators — which is why this step is configuration rather than development. See step six of the launch process for where it sits in the timeline.
